Island rinks will be coming home with $1960 in total winnings after weekend play at the Fifth Annual CFB Halifax Curling Club cashspiel. The Eddie MacKenzie rink made it to the quarter-final round, and pockets $400, while the Rod MacDonald and Brett Gallant rinks lost out in the semi-finals, and each take home $600. As well, all three teams had four round robin wins, with a payout of $30 per win.

In the semi-final round, MacDonald lost out to Paul Dobson of Saint John, while Gallant lost to Jamie Murphy of Halifax.  The final gets underway at 3 pm. The winning team in the final take home $1400, with $1000 going to the runner-up.
