Earlybird ticket packs go on sale Thurs. Oct 2 for Ford World Men’s in Halifax (CCA)

(by Graham Lloyd) Championship curling is returning to Halifax, the home of several classic battles for Canadian men’s supremacy, and the site of the 2005 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings, when Newfoundland/Labrador’s Brad Gushue prevailed on the road to gold at the 2006 Olympics.

Now, for the first time ever, the hotbed of curling in Atlantic Canada will host the top athletes in the game for the 2015 Ford World Men’s Curling Championship, March 28-Apr. 5 in the Scotiabank Centre. And the Old Classic Earlybird Bonus ticket pack, going on sale Thurs. Oct. 2, is the best way to make the most of all the excitement of live championship curling.

Along with a guaranteed seat for all 22 draws, fans will receive four vouchers for any draw on family weekend (March 28-29), priced at $369. The ticket package also includes all tie-breaker games leading up to the playoffs at no additional charge.

Ticketholders can use the bonus vouchers in any manner they choose. It’s a perfect opportunity to introduce a new generation of curling fans to the game, especially during opening weekend, when a host of family festivities are planned. Or, it may be a chance to get a head start on holiday shopping.

Fans also have the opportunity to be part of a side of the game they’ll never experience by watching the action at home on television. Once the rocks come to rest on the ice at Scotiabank Centre, the fun moves right next door to the Patch in the Halifax World Trade and Convention Centre.

The Patch is the legendary party place for Season of Champions events with live music, dancing, drinks, food and interactive fun for the whole family – plus the chance to meet the athletes.
