Gushue qualifies for money round, Casey, MacAulay still alive at Challenge Chateau Cartier de Gatineau

The Brad Gushue rink, which includes PEI native Brett Gallant, stole a single in the final end to edge the PEI rink skipped by their former teammate Adam Casey by a 6-5 score in a B division semi-final match at the Challenge Chateau Cartier in Gatineau QC this morning, and then beat Mark Dacey of Halifax 7-5 this afternoon in the B final to qualify for the money round in the event.

Team Casey, and the Ottawa rink skipped by PEI native Ian MacAulay are now both down in the sudden-death C division, with MacAulay trailing 4-1 at the half against Sven Michel of Sweden, and Casey picking up a win against Mark Keen of Ontario to advance to a C qualifying game at 8 pm Atlantic against Michael Fournier of Montreal.
