Adam Casey rink runners-up at Ontario Cashspiel

PEI’s Adam Casey rink made it to the Sunday afternoon final of the $22.500 CookstownCash cashspiel in Cookstown ON. presented by Comco Canada Inc., but finished as runners-up to the Pat Ferris rink of Grimsby Ont. by a 6-2 score. Casey was ahead 2-1 after three ends, but Ferris picked up four points in the fourth end, and stole a single in the 5th to bring the game to an early conclusion.

Casey beat Craig Brown of the US 7-4 in the semi-final. Viktor Kjall of Sweden spared for Casey second Anson Carmody in the event, where the Casey team had a 6-1 in the event, going into the final their only loss being to Brown, earlier in the competition.

The women’s event was won by Patti Lank of the US, by an 6-2 score, over Marilyn Bodogh of St. Catharines ON, with Lank picking up a deuce in the sixth end, and a steal of five  points in the seventh end, to bring the game to handshakes.
