SUMMERSIDE – Suzanne Birt and Kathy O’Rourke will meet for the second day in a row on Saturday afternoon.

Skip Kim Dolan makes a shot as her daughter and third stone Sinead Dolan prepares to sweep during the 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts provincial women’s curling championship at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club.

The two Summerside natives will skip their respective Charlottetown Curling Complex rinks in the B section final of the 2015 Scotties Tournament of Hearts provincial women’s curling championship at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club. That game is scheduled to get underway at 3 p.m.

O’Rourke takes a 2-0 (won-lost) record into the game while Birt is 2-1 after stealing a single point for an 8-7 extra-end win over clubmate and defending-champion Kim Dolan in Saturday morning’s lone game. Dolan (1-2) will face Lisa Jackson (0-2) of the Cornwall Curling Club in an elimination game in the modified triple-knockout format on Saturday at 3 p.m.

The winner of the O’Rourke-Birt game will advance directly to the C section final on Sunday at 3 p.m. The losing rink will play the winner of the Jackson-Dolan game in Sunday’s 10 a.m. draw.

If O’Rourke wins all three sections she will be declared the champion. If necessary, a championship round will be held Monday.

Future Scotties

Four rinks are also competing in the Future Scotties event, featuring P.E.I. junior teams. They will play a round robin, and the first draw was held on Saturday morning. Lauren Lenentine of Cornwall won 16-2 over Sierra Clyke of the Crapaud Community Curling Club and Silver Fox, and Charlottetown’s Lauren Moerike defeated Cornwall’s Kristie Rogers 11-7.
