Tyler Smith rink loses tiebreaker in extra end – will not advance to Canadian Juniors playoff round

PEI’s Tyler Smith rink lost in an extra end this afternoon in a tiebreaker game to nail down one of the final spots in the Canadian Juniors championship round. The game was against Northern Ontario, who gained the tiebreaker berth when they blanked PEI 7-0 in their final round robin game. This time the score was much closer, with a 5-5 score after ten ends, but Northern Ontario scored four points in the extra end for a 9-5 win, sending the Smith rink, from Crapaud and Montague, to the seeding pool.
