PEI Credit Unions Seniors – recap with team pictures

The Rod MacDonald and Shirley Berry rinks are this year’s PEI Credit Unions Provincial Senior (age 50+) Curling Champions, and will represent PEI in the 2015 Canadian Senior Curling Championships, March 21-28, 2015, in Edmonton, AB.

The Berry rink, from the Cornwall and Charlottetown clubs,  the only entry in the senior women’s event, was awarded the championship by default.

The Rod MacDonald foursome, from the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside, and the Charlottetown Curling Complex, went undefeated in the six team men’s event, winning all three modified triple knockout section finals, all over the Peter Gallant team from Charlottetown, and all by 6-5 scores, with the last game going to an extra end.

Marc LeClair from PEI Credit Unions, who have sponsored this event for many years, was on hand at the closing ceremonies to present Curl PEI representative Larry Richards with a cheque for their annual sponsorship.
