The event is set for Credit Union Place from Nov. 6 to 12 2017 and will involve 16 rinks from across the country.“We’ve been working for a while to secure an event with the Canadian Curling Association,” said J P Desrosiers, director of community services with the City of Summerside. “We’re pretty excited to have the partnership with the CCA [Curling Canada]. Any event where you can be involved with helping secure athletes that will eventually head on to the Olympics is pretty special for us.”

He said this event gets fairly substantial national television coverage.

Desrosiers said, “It brings a tremendous amount of athletes, television crews, event management teams from CCA along with the fans to the Island for a six-day period in November which is normally our slower season. The economic impact, it’s certainly a big event for us.”
