CALGARY – Back-to-back three-enders by the Brad Gushue rink proved to be the difference against P.E.I.’s Adam Casey on Wednesday morning.

Gushue went on to win 9-6 and hand his former teammate his fourth straight loss in the round-robin portion of the 2015 Tim Hortons Brier.

Casey, third stone Josh Barry, second stone Anson Carmody, lead Robbie Doherty, fifth player Robert Campbell and coach Lincoln Peters are now 2-5 (won-lost), and will look to get back on the winning track in Wednesday night’s late draw against Saskatchewan’s Steve Laycock (4-2). The Gushue rink, which includes second stone Brett Gallant from Charlottetown, improved to 6-2 in the Canadian men’s curling championship.

Thursday, the P.E.I. rink, which curls out of the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside and the Charlottetown Curling Complex, takes on New Brunswick’s Jeremy  Mallais (1-6) in the morning draw and the Northwest Territories’ Jamie Koe (0-7) in the afternoon. Team Casey then concludes the round robin against Manitoba’s Reid Carruthers (3-3) on Friday morning.
