Veronica Smith rink still undefeated – will advance to Advantage Comm. Junior Mixed final

The final round robin draw goes at 9:30 this morning in the Advantage Communications / Curl PEI Provincial Junior Mixed curling championship at the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club in Summerside.  The Veronica Smith rink from Cornwall and Crapaud will be one of the two teams advancing to the 1pm championship game between the 1st and 2nd place teams. Other members of the Smith rink are third Tyler Smith, second Emily Gray, and lead Tyson Smith, with coach Paul Smith.

Smith, the only defeated team in the event, at 3-0, plays Owen Collier from Montague (0-3) in the final round robin draw, and will advance to the final with either a 4-0 or 3-1 record. Donald DeWolfe and his Crapaud and Cornwall team ended play Saturday with a 2-2 record, while defending champion James Dalton and his Silver Fox and Cornwall team sits at 2-1 and plays Mitchell Schut from Cornwall and Crapaud, who is at 1-2, this morning. If Schut wins, there will be a 3-way tie for the second spot in the final, between DeWolfe, Dalton, and Schut. If Dalton wins, he would advance to the final, with a 3-1 record.
