The 6th Annual Lobster Trap Curling Bonspiel takes place this weekend (April 10-12) at the Eastern Kings Sportsplex in Souris, with 32 teams vying for the coveted Lobster Trap trophy. The Sportsplex hosts curling one day a week during the winter, and wraps up with this annual bonspiel. Curling started there in March 2010, when rink manager Colin LaVie discovered curling stones from the old Souris curling club stored under the stands at the Sportsplex, and decided to introduce curling on a part-time basis at the rink.
