Casey and Gushue rinks competing in Swiss Cup this weekend

Two Canadian teams, both with PEI connections, are among the 32 men’s rinks competing in the 13th annual Swiss Cup in Basel Switzerland this weekend. The Brad Gushue rink, who won this event in 2006, 2008, and 2011, includes PEI native Brett Gallant at second, while the Adam Casey team from the Island are also competing in this triple-knockout event, with a total purse of 40,000 Swiss Francs, or around $55,000 Canadian dollars. Play gets underway Thursday, and wraps up Sunday. Defending champ Tom Brewster from Scotland is back this year.
