Casey and Gushue rinks in Stu Sells Toronto Tankard this weekend

The World Curling Tour’s Stu Sells Toronto Tankard got underway this morning, and wraps up on Thanksgiving Monday, with 29 teams taking part in the $53,000 total purse triple-knockout men’s event, including PEI’s Adam Casey rink, and the Brad Gushue foursome from St. John’s NL, which includes PEI native Brett Gallant at second stone. Purse Breakdown: 1st: $15,000 2nd: $10,000 3/4: $5,500 5-8: $3,500 9-12: $750 Games take place at the High Park Club. http://www.highparkclub.com/

The championship game goes Monday at 6 pm Atlantic. Defending champ Reid Carruthers and his Winnipeg rink are in the event.

There is no PEI representation on the 16 team women’s side of the event, but Nova Scotia teams skipped by Mary-Anne Arsenault and Theresa Breen are entered.
