Fullerton loses in extra end, disastrous ninth costs MacLean at Cdn. Jrs (Journal)

STRATFORD, Ont. – P.E.I.’s entries went winless in Monday’s play at the Canadian junior curling championships.

The Katie Fullerton rink from the Cornwall Curling Club played for the steal in the extra end against unbeaten British Columbia in the afternoon draw, but ended up dropping a 7-6 decision to Sarah Daniels’ New Westminster rink.

Fullerton, who is 1-4 (won-lost) in women’s Pool B standings, scored two with the hammer in the 10th to force the extra end.

Matthew MacLean’s O’Leary/Cornwall rink also fell to 1-4, giving up a four-ender in the ninth end to Alex Robichaud’s Moncton, N.B., foursome in afternoon action. The 7-4 win moved Robichaud to 2-1.
