The Island’s men’s team, skipped by Matthew MacLean from the Maple Leaf Curling Club, fell behind 5-0 on a second-end steal of two by Saskatchewan’s Jacob Hersikorn’s (2-1) rink from the Saskatoon Sutherland Curling Club. The Island foursome was limited to singles in the third, sixth and eighth ends, conceding the game after eight trailing 10-3.

The Katie Fullerton rink from the Cornwall Curling Club, suffered a similar fate to Ontario’s Courtney Auld rink from Bayview Golf and Country Club in Thornhill, shaking hands after eight when Auld (2-1) scored three more points for a 13-5 lead.

The Island rinks, who scored their first wins of the competition Sunday night, both fell to 1-3 in their respective pool standings with their Monday morning losses.
