Four teams with only 1 loss, PEI slips to 2-3 at the Canadian Firefighters Ch’ship

The PEI rink, skipped by Leo Stewart from the Summerside Fire Department, lost both their games – 8-4 to Alberta, and 7-4 to Southern Ontario, today at the Canadian Firefighters Curling Championship in Truro, to slip to a 2-3 win-loss record The Islanders play British Columbia at 10 am Tuesday, and have the bye in the afternoon draw.

There are no undefeated teams remaining, following a 9-8 win by Manitoba (2-2) over previously-unbeaten Alberta this afternoon, and a 7-5 win by Saskatchewan, handing the host province their first loss. Alberta and Sask. are both 4-1, with Nova Scotia and Southern Ontario at 3-1.  Quebec, BC, and Manitoba have 2 losses while PEI has 3. NB, Northern Ont., and the Northwest Territories have four losses. Round robin play wraps up Thursday, while the semi-finals and final go on Saturday following tiebreakers, if needed, and the Page playoff games on Friday.
