Adam Casey has found a new curling team to compete with next season.

The skip of the last two Prince Edward Island Tankard-winning teams is joining the Saskatchewan rink skipped by Shaun Meachem.

“They seem like a great bunch of guys. They’re really keen to do the little things and want to play a busy schedule and try and get to the pre-trials in Summerside,” Casey said Wednesday. “It seemed like the best fit for me, and I’m looking forward to it.”

The move was precipitated after the members of Team Casey members decided to go their separate ways after a tough year that saw the team lose money while competing against the top curlers in the country and around the world.

Casey said third David Mathers went home to Ontario for personal and professional reasons, second Anson Carmody finished up his education and is concentrating on his career while lead Robbie Doherty was unsure he could commit the required time.

Casey said he understood each of the decisions and they remain good friends.
