SUMMERSIDE –  In 1973, Rod MacDonald watched his brother Peter win the provincial junior championship for Summerside and go on to nationals in Moncton.

That was enough for Rod, he was sold on the sport and took it up a year later.

The rest, as they say, is history.

The MacDonalds went on to have distinguished careers as both players and organizers of the sport of curling on P.E.I.

Monday night the brothers, along with fellow builders of the sport, Kay Atkinson and Lou Nowlan were inducted into the P.E.I. Curling Hall of Fame in a special ceremony at the Silver Fox Entertainment Complex.
