Curlers of all ages and skill levels are invited to join the fun at the 33rd annual Curl for Cancer in Montague this weekend. The event, a fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society, takes place on Nov. 18 and 19 at the Montague Curling Club.

This year, the Curl for Cancer planning committee, led by Robyn MacDonald, has chosen to honour Elaine MacNeill, a longtime member of the Montague Curling Club who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer.  Elaine is an avid curler and hopes to be back on the sheet soon.

“It’s so great that everyone comes together to support the cancer cause,” says Larry Richards, manager, Montague Curling Club. “Cancer affects every family on P.E.I. in one way or another. It’s good to give back and every dollar raised helps in the fight against cancer.”

Last year Curl for Cancer Montague raised more than $8,000.  This year’s goal is $10,000.
