Curling 101, held at Charlottetown, Cornwall on the weekend was a big success!

Curling 101 in the Charlottetown area wrapped up with three sessions on Sunday afternoon at the Charlottetown Curling Complex, with 158 people — students and their parents or guardians, participating in the on-ice program. The final count (there were some who registered but could not make it) in Cornwall on Saturday was 72.

Fourteen schools from Morell to Cornwall had received the Rocks & Rings program in their gyms over the last month and invited the students to try curling on-ice at one of the two clubs this past weekend.

The school visits were made possible through support from the Canada Post Community Foundation and the Provincial Government’s Department of Health and Wellness. The Charlottetown and Cornwall clubs provided ice time and volunteer instructors for the Curling 101 on-ice program on the weekend.

Both clubs provided the attendees with information on their Junior curling programs, and a planned adult Learn to Curl League in the new year.
