MacPhee, third stone Sarah Fullerton, second stone Meaghan Hughes and lead Michelle McQuaid stole single points in the final two ends to cap a 7-5 come-from-behind win over Veronica Smith in a clash of Charlottetown Curling Complex rinks at the Scotties provincial women’s curling championship on Sunday morning.
Smith, with steals of one in the second end and three in the third, held an early 4-0 lead. MacPhee cut the deficit to 4-3 at the fifth-end break, counted a deuce with last-rock advantage in the eight end to tie the game 5-5 and stole the game’s final two points when Smith was heavy on draw attempts.

The Al Ledgerwood-coached MacPhee rink will now represent P.E.I. at the Canadian women’s curling championship in St. Catharines, Ont., from Feb. 18 to 26.
