The team from the North Hill Curling Club in Calgary proved it can play with the best teams in Alberta. Ramsay, third stone Jody McNabb, second stone Brittany Tran and lead Claire Tully went a very respectable 5-3 (won-lost), and qualified for the playoffs in the Scotties provincial women’s curling championship.
“It’s a great accomplishment to have a new team and have an absolutely great provincials,” said Ramsay, a Summerside native and product of the junior curling program at the Silver Fox. “We obviously came up a little bit short, but it was an amazing experience and I’m proud of the team.”
When asked how she would have reacted if she had been told before the provincials that her rink would qualify for the playoff round, Ramsay responded: “I would have been pretty happy about it, that’s for sure, where most people thought that wasn’t going to happen.”

Skipping
It marked the first time in Ramsay’s career she skipped in a provincial championship at any level.
“It is a lot of pressure,” admitted Ramsay. “It’s a different type of game (skipping). Making the last shot is a really great feeling.”

Although the skip said no official decision has been made, she’s hopeful and optimistic the team will remain intact next season.
