Laycock pulls out extra-end win vs. Casey In A section final of Saskatchewan Tankard (Journal)

TISDALE, Sask. – The Adam Casey rink suffered its first loss in the Saskatchewan Tankard provincial men’s curling championship on Friday afternoon.

 

Adam Casey, a native of Seven Mile Bay and Winsloe resident, is skipping a rink in the Saskatchewan Tankard provincial men’s curling championship in Tisdale this week.

Defending-champion Steve Laycock of the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon scored a single point with hammer in an extra end to edge Casey 6-5 in the A section final. Casey scored one point in the 10th end with last-rock advantage to tie the game 5-5.
Casey, third stone Catlin Schneider, second stone Shaun Meachem and lead Dustin Kidby were back on the ice in Friday night’s late draw.
Laycock improved to 4-0 (won-lost) while the Casey rink went into Friday night’s draw at 3-1.
