MacPhee drops Scotties opener, faces Ontario, Team Canada today (Journal)

ST. CATHARINES, ONT. – It was not the start the Robyn MacPhee rink was hoping for.

The P.E.I. representative from the Charlottetown Curling Complex lost 9-4 to the Kerry Galusha of the Northwest Territories in its opening game of the 2017 Scotties Tournament of Hearts on Saturday night.
Galusha, third stone Megan Koehler, second stone Danielle Derry and lead Sharon Cormier had to go through the relegation round just to qualify for the main draw at the Canadian women’s curling championship.
MacPhee, third stone Sarah Fullerton, second stone Meaghan Hughes and lead Michelle McQuaid face two tough games on Sunday. They will take on Ontario’s Rachel Homan at 3:30 p.m., and Team Canada’s Chelsea Carey at 8:30 p.m.
