PEI Firefighters at 1-3 after Monday play at Canadian Ch’ship

After winning their opener 9-2 against Northern Ontario, the PEI Firefighters champions – the Crossroads Fire Dept. skipped by Jerry Hughes, have had three losses at the Canadian championships in Mississauga – a close 9-8 decision to Nova Scotia, an 8-1 loss to Manitoba, and a 7-1 loss to Alberta, to slip to 1-3 at the end of Monday play. They take on BC in their only Tuesday game. Manitoba and Southern Ont. are now the only undefeated teams, while Alberta and Nova Scotia have only 1 loss, and BC has 2. Round robin play continues through Thursday, with the championship game set for Saturday afternoon.
