Alberta advances to Cdn. Firefighters final. PEI finishes at 1-8

After winning their opener, the PEI team from the Crossroads Fire Dept. didn’t manage to pick up any more wins at the Canadian Firefighters Curling Championship in Mississauga, ending play with a 1-8 win-loss record. After a couple of tiebreakers this morning, the Page games were played this afternoon, with Alberta beating Nova Scotia 9-7 in the Page 1 vs 2 game to earn a bye to the 1 pm Saturday final. Both teams finished round robin play with 7-2 records. Saskatchewan edged Manitoba 9-8 in the Page 3 vs 4 game. Both teams went 6-3 in the round robin. Nova Scotia now plays Saskatchewan in the 9 am Saturday semi-final, with the winner advancing to the final against Alberta.
