5 Fun Facts about PEI’s team at the Canadian Mixed in November (Curling Canada)

(by Jean Mills) The 2018 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship presented by Westman Communications Group heads to Swan River, Man., November 12-13 2017. As our Provincial and Territorial champions prepare to compete for the 55th national Mixed title, we asked them to share five “fun facts” about their team.

This week we’ll hear from Team Prince Edward Island, representing the Charlottetown and Western curling clubs: Dennis Watts (skip), Jaclyn Reid (third), Erik Brodersen (second) and Alison Griffin (lead).

Fun Fact #1

Legendary curler Doug MacGregor will be the team’s fifth player. Doug will be on call and will jump in his 1999 Toyota prop plane to fly to Swan River if needed.

Fun Fact #2

Dennis has a deep love for unicorns and according to legend has one tattooed on his inner thigh.

Fun Fact #3

We hope beverages will be allowed on the bus ride to Swan River from Winnipeg or there might be some very unhappy curlers.

Fun Fact #4

Erik has been trying to quit curling for seven years now but his wife keeps making him go.

Fun Fact #5

Two-time Canadian Mixed Curling Champion Robert Campbell declined the chance to coach this awesome team… your loss, Robert!
