O’LEARY – It was a good start to the day for the Lauren Lenentine and Alex MacFadyen rinks at the Pepsi P.E.I. junior curling championships.
They won the A section finals as defending-champion Lenentine defeated Annika Kelly of Charlottetown 11-1 in six ends, and MacFadyen posted a 7-3 win over Cornwall’s Mitchell Schut in eight ends at the Maple Leaf Curling Club on Thursday morning.

Lenentine scored a deuce with hammer in the first end, and then stole three in the second end to take control early. After Kelly got one point back in the fourth, Lenentine counted four in the fifth to go into the break up 9-1.
