Smith/Ferguson wins Mixed Doubles “C” final- can win ch’ship at 12:45 draw

The Crapaud Community Curling Club pair of Calvin Smith and Lauren Ferguson edged Cornwall’s Sydney Howatt and Nick Johnston duo 5-4 this morning to win the “C” final of the PEI Mixed Doubles Curling Championship at the Charlottetown Curling Complex.

As they have won two modified triple knockout sections, a win in either championship round game, at 12:45 and 4 pm, would give them the title, while the Howatt/Johnston twosome, who won the other section, would have to win both games to be declared champions.

The winning team advances to the 2018 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship from March 29 to April 1 in Leduc Alberta.
