Sask. goes undefeated in round robin as Page Playoff round set at Cdn. Firefighters

Round robin play wrapped up on Thursday afternoon, with the Page playoffs starting at 10 Eastern this morning at the 59th Canadian Firefighters Curling Championships in Thunder Bay. Play is over for Team PEI, represented by the Summerside Fire Department and skipped by Gordon MacFadyen, who did not manage to pick up a round robin win.

Team Saskatchewan, skipped by 2013 champ Gregg Tarasoff of Saskatchewan went undefeated 10 10-0 to grab first place in the round robin, closely followed by defending champion Alberta, skipped by Aaron Bartling, at 9-1. 2016 champ skip Chad Stevens and his Chester Nova Scotia rink were third at  8-2, while Southern Ontario (Dwayne Lowe) were 7-3.

Saskatchewan and Alberta face off in the Page 1 vs. 2 game this morning, while Nova Scotia takes on Southern Ontario in the 3 vs. 4. The winner of the 1 vs. 2 advances directly to the 1 pm Saturday final, while the loser goes to the semi-final, against the winner of the 3 vs 4 game, Friday at 2 pm, with the winner going to the final.
