Montague Curl for Cancer coming up Oct. 26 and 27

Islanders are invited to join the annual Curl for Cancer event in Montague. It’s an opportunity for both beginners and those with lots of curling experience to enjoy a social event while raising funds for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Curl for Cancer was started in Charlottetown in the mid 80’s by Carole Kennedy, an avid curler, and has been going strong ever since, expanding to many locations.

Curling begins on Friday, October 26th at 6:30 p.m. and continues all day Saturday, October 27th at the Montague Curling Club beginning at 10:00 a.m. Friday night will be the beginning of the silent auction and entertainment beginning at 9:00 p.m. Entertainment is free for all curlers and by donation for non-curlers.

Saturday will begin with the 4th Annual Carol Sullivan Fun Walk/Run at 8:30 a.m. starting at the Curling Club. Registration is $10. Curling draws begin at 10:00 a.m. Also during the day on Saturday there will be a cake auction, trivia, 50/50, draw to the button, a bake sale and the continuation of the silent auction. All events are open to the public. Come have some fun even if you are not curling at the event.
