PEI Picks up Win at the Mixed

PEI split their Tuesday games at the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship in Winnipeg to improve to 1-4 win-loss. They finish up round-robin play at 4 this afternoon against BC.

In draw seven, Nova Scotia’s Kendal Thompson (Mayflower Curling Club) achieved a 9-4 win against Prince Edward Island’s Melissa Morrow (Silver Fox/Charlottetown Curling Clubs). Prince Edward Island took an early lead with a score of three in the second end, but Nova Scotia’s steal of four in the fourth gave the Bluenosers the edge needed to sail forward. Nova Scotia is sporting a healthy 3-1 record.

In draw eight, PEI downed the Northwest Territories, skipped by Mel Sittichinli, by a 12-1 score, stealing a deuce, a triple, another pair, and a four-ender to put the game out of reach after only four ends. The teams exchanged singles in the next two ends, before shaking hands.
