Ready to wear the Island flag (Guardian)

The teams are set for the men’s and women’s curling event at the 2019 Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alta., after the trials concluded Sunday in Cornwall.

On the women’s side, Team Ferguson from the Cornwall Curling Club won the right to represent P.E.I. with a 5-3 win over the Sydney Howatt rink also from Cornwall.

For the men, it’s Team Schut from Cornwall, which scored three in an extra end to beat the Chase MacMillan foursome from Charlottetown 8-5 to win the best-of-five series 3-1.

The Games run Feb. 15-March 3. The curling competition goes Feb. 25-March 2.
