The annual Island Petroleum Cashspiel was held over the weekend at the Silver Fox Entertainment Complex in Summerside, with two extra-end semifinal games played at 10 am Sunday to decide the finalists. In one semifinal the Steve vanOuwerkerk Silver Fox foursome (sponsored by Sharon O’Halloran CPA Inc.) with Sam Ramsay throwing skip rocks, defeated Alan Inman (Crapaud).
In the other semifinal, the Fred Fraser (Western) team with Daryl MacDonald throwing skip rocks stole one in the extra end to defeat Tyler Smith (Charlottetown).
In the Championship game played at 1:30 another extra-end was needed before the vanOuwerkerk team came out victorious over the Fraser foursome.
