Team NS with PEI’s Lauren Lenentine clinches playoff spot

The defending champion Kaitlyn Jones rink from Halifax, which includes PEI’s Lauren Lenentine at third stone, has clinched a spot in the semi-finals at the New Holland Junior Curling Championship in Prince Albert SK and will play Team BC, skipped by Sarah Daniels, on TSN Saturday at 3 pm Atlantic Time. The winner will face Team Alberta, skipped by Selena Sturmay, in the final.

Nova Scotia received a berth into the semifinal due to having the best Last Stone Draw distance while the other two teams needed to settle with the tiebreaker. Jones edged Team Quebec 9-8 to advance, while team BC got by Quebec 8-6 in the tiebreaker. Alberta, with a perfect 10-0 record. beat Sask. 9-4 to advance directly to the final at noon AT on Sunday.
