Ferguson loses in extra to go to 1-5, Schut looking for win today against 4-loss teams at the Canada Games

It was a two-loss day on Tuesday for both the Lauren Ferguson and Mitchell Schut rinks at the Canada Games in Red Deer. Ferguson scored a deuce in the eighth to force an extra end in her game against Alberta, but lost 8-6 when the westerners scored a deuce with last rock advantage. In the earlier draw, Ferguson was trailing 6-1 but tied the game with a five-point 7th end. BC took a single in the 8th for a 7-6 win. Ferguson has a 1-5 win-loss record heading into their games against NS (4-2) at 1 pm today, and Quebec (3-2) at 8 pm.

Team Schut (0-6) are still looking for their first win, after an 8-4 loss to Alberta and an 8-2 loss to BC (both 4-1), and that win could come today, as they are taking on two teams with four losses.
Schut takes on their frequent rivals the Ethan Young team from Halifax (2-4) at 1 pm, along with the Quebec team (1-4) at 8 pm today (all times Atlantic).
