Players Championship: Single Draw tickets now on sale, draw revised

Single draw tickets, at $15 each, went on sale today for the Grand Slam of Curling Players’ Championship at Credit Union Place in Summerside. Also still available are Full Event passes, and Flex packs of 6 tickets. For full ticket information, or to purchase, visit the Credit Union Place Box Office, or buy online at CupEvents.ca

Your same-day single draw event ticket will also give you admission to the Slam Social House, in the adjacent convention centre, open late on Friday and Saturday nights, with great bands playing (hours and bands will be announced later).

Players’ Championship to return to Summerside

 

Summerside mayor Basil Stewart appeared on Sportsnet this evening to announce that The Players’ Championship, the final event each year in the Grand Slam of Curling, will be returning to the Credit Union Place in Summerside from April 15-20, 2014. Summerside also hosted the event last year, while this year’s Championship is taking place at the former Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. Mayor Stewart announced that 30 teams are expected to be in attendance.

Sportsnet announces locations (including Summerside) and dates for 3 Grand Slam events next season

TORONTO – The Masters will kick off the 2013-14 Grand Slam of Curling series beginning Oct. 30 in Abbotsford, B.C., Sportsnet announced Thursday.

Sportsnet also confirmed the event details for the Canadian Open and Players’ Championship. Details on The National, the fourth Grand Slam of Curling event, will be announced in the coming weeks.

The Masters will run Oct. 30 to Nov. 3 and feature 30 men’s and women’s teams competing for a combined purse of $200,000.

From Nov. 13 to 17, Medicine Hat, Alta., will host the Canadian Open, which will include 18 men’s teams competing for a $100,000 purse.

The Players’ Championship, the final event of the 2013-14 Grand Slam of Curling series, will take place in Summerside, P.E.I., from April 15 to 20, with 30 men’s and women’s teams competing for a combined purse of $200,000.

Below are the details of the confirmed 2013-14 Grand Slam of Curling series events:

Masters  

Date: Oct. 30 to Nov. 3, 2013
Location: Abbotsford, B.C. (Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre)
Draw: Men’s and women’s draws
Purse: $200,000 ($100,000 split)

Canadian Open

Date: Nov. 13 – 17, 2013
Location: Medicine Hat, Alta. (Medicine Hat Arena)
Draw: Men’s draw only
Purse: $100,000

Players’ Championship

Date: April 15 – 20, 2014
Location: Summerside, P.E.I.  (Credit Union Place)
Draw: Men’s and women’s draws
Purse: $200,000 ($100,000 split)
