Regional Development Co-ordinator
Curl Atlantic
Curl Atlantic, the regional sport association affiliated with the Provincial Sport Associations for curling of Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick and with the Canadian Curling Association is seeking a
Regional Development Co-ordinator.
The Curl Atlantic mission is to attract, retain and advance participants to grow the sport of curling in Atlantic Canada. The Regional Development Co-ordinator is the sole contracted employee of Curl Atlantic, answering to a volunteer Board of Directors. Consequently, the successful achievement of the Curl Atlantic mission rests largely on this position.
The Development Co-ordinator is responsible for the overall co-ordination and communication of the CCA high performance program, curling club based initiatives, and developing new funding and partnership opportunities.
The ideal candidate would be able to demonstrate the following qualifications:
- strong communication, facilitation and co-ordination skills
- Certified level 2 curling coach (minimum)
- ability to work independently
- ability to work flexible hours and to travel within the Atlantic region
- basic financial management skills
- a knowledge of the ‘Business of Curling’ program
- an ongoing interest in the development of athletes at the community and elite levels, through all age ranges
- ability to design and implement learning programs for athletes, clubs, and other groups, including special populations.
- ability to assume responsibility for existing conferences and development camp
The successful candidate must be willing to locate within the Maritime Provinces.
The salary range for this position, based on 20hrs/wk, is $18,000 –$ 22,000 per annum.
