Martin beats Howard 7-5 to go undefeated in Brier round robin

The Kevin Martin rink from Alberta has swept  all 11 games in the round robin at the Brier in Calgary, beating Glen Howard of Ontario 7-5 tonight. The two teams will meet again in the Page 1-2 game, as Howard has wrapped up second place with a 9-2 win-loss record.

Brad Gushue of Newfoundland-Labrador is third with an 8-3 win-loss record. He beat Saskatchewan 8-3 in the final draw.

Jean-Michel Minard of Quebec and Mike Jakubo of Northern Ontario went into an extra end in their game, with Minard drawing to the button with his final shot, to win 7-6 and finish tied with Jeff Stoughton of Manitoba at 7-5.

Minard and Stoughton now meet in a 4 pm Atlantic tiebreaker on Friday, with the winner advancing to the Page 3-4 game against Gushue.
