Canadian senior curling championships start Saturday

SUMMERSIDE — He has competed in nearly 20 national curling championships in the past four decades.
But for Mel Bernard, so far at least, none compare to his 2006 competition. He was third stone on Ted MacFadyen’s P.E.I. provincial senior men’s championship team that year, when the Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club hosted the Canadian senior championships.
“That was, by far, the best curling experience I ever had,” said Bernard.
“It’s pretty amazing playing in a national event in your home province.
