Mel Bernard of the host Silver Fox Curling and Yacht Club and defending champion Eugene Hritzuk of Saskatchewan are both 2-0 at the Canadian Seniors in Summerside.
Bernard scored a single point in an extra end in a 7-6 win over Alberta’s David Olsen rink in the 4:30 pm Saturday draw, while Hritzuk beat Mike Carson of Quebec by a 5-3 score.
In women’s action, Shirley Berry of the Cornwall Curling Club lost a close 7-6 decision to Alberta’s Peggy Harper to go to 0-2.
Nova Scotia’s Colleen Pinkney and Saskatchewan’s Deb Thierman lead the women with 2-0 records.
