The Jamie Murphy rink of Halifax beat the Paul Dobson foursome from Saint John in the Sunday afternoon final of the Fifth Annual CFB Halifax Curling Club cashspiel. The Murphy team picks up $1400 for the win, while the Dobson squad pockets $1000. Scores were not available.
Meanwhile, the three Island rinks in the event will be coming home with $1960 in total winnings. The Eddie MacKenzie team made it to the quarter-final round, and pockets $400, while the Rod MacDonald and Brett Gallant rinks lost out to Dobson and Murphy, respectively, in the semi-finals, and each take home $600. As well, all three PEI teams had four round robin wins, with a payout of $30 per win.
