In order to combat seasonal flu, including the H1N1 virus, the Charlottetown Curling Club is initiating precautionary measures. Dispensers containing alcohol-based hand sanitizers have been installed around the club, as well as sanitizing wipes both in the lounge and on the ice. The rock handles are wiped down daily but curlers are also invited to wipe them before they play. Door handles, railings, the bar area, and washrooms are also being cleaned more frequently, and patrons are being invited to help stop the spread of flu in the club by coughing into their sleeves, washing hands frequently, and leaving their gloves on when shaking hands before and after a game.
