The Sarah Fullerton foursome from the Cornwall Curling Club are among 16 junior women’s rinks, and an equal number of junior men’s teams, competing in the 16th annual John Shea Insurance OVCA Junior SuperSpiel, which gets underway on Friday morning, and wraps up on Sunday afternoon at four Ottawa and area curling clubs. Other members of the Fullerton team, who are the provincial and Atlantic 17 and under champions for the past two years, are third Michelle McQuaid, second Whitney Young, lead Sara MacRae, and coach Brenda MacMillan.

This event includes national teams from the USA and Scotland, 8 Provincial Champions, 3 Provincial Junior Tour Champions plus 5 teams that came second in National or Provincial Championships. Former SuperSpiel champion Rachel Homan and her rink have made the short list to participate in the qualifying process to select the Canadian Olympic representatives.
