Brett Gallant and Sarah Fullerton took similar roads to the 2010 M&M Meat Shops Canadian junior men’s and women’s curling championships, Jan. 16-24, in Sorel-Tracy, Que.
Each skipped their rinks to titles at the recent P.E.I. provincial juniors in O’Leary and each gets a crack at a national crown and, with a win, an invite to the worlds in Switzerland in March.
Each pounded the opposition, too. Fullerton’s group won 9-2 over the Anita Casey rink from Charlottetown while Gallant lambasted Matthew MacLean’s Cornwall rink 9-1. [Correction: MacLean rink is from the Maple Leaf Curling Club in O’Leary, not from Cornwall]
First, though, is the national title.
