Tim Hortons Brier teams set

All twelve teams have now been decided for the Tim Hortons Brier, March 6-14 at the Halifax Metro Centre.

Skip Brad Jacobs and his Soo Curlers Association team of third E.J. Harnden, Ryan Harnden and lead Caleb Flaxey won the Northern Ontario Dominion men’s championship Sunday, defeating Matt Dumontelle, 5-2 in the final.

Serge Reid and his Kénogami Curling Club team of François Gionest, Simon Collin and Steeve Villeneuve surprised many with an 8-7 extra end win over former provincial champion Martin Ferland Sunday at the Quebec men’s provincial championship.

Jamie Koe of Yellowknife successfully defended his Northwest Territories/Yukon title on Tuesday, beating Chad Cowan of Whitehorse in a tiebreaker, 5-3.

MacDonald successfully defends PEI Labatt Tankard
Rod MacDonald and his Charlottetown Curling Club team of third Kevin Champion, second Andrew Robinson and lead Mark O’Rourke successfully defended their Labatt Tankard Sunday in Alberton, defeating Robert Campbell, 5-4 in the final.

Fitzner-LeBlanc a new Brier face for Nova Scotia
Ian Fitzner-LeBlanc and his Mayflower Curling Club team of third Stuart MacLean, second Kent Smith and lead Philip Crowell won the Nova Scotia Molson Men’s Tankard by defeating clubmate Doug MacKenzie, 6-3 in the Sunday final at his home club.

Coldwater’s Glenn Howard won his fifth straight Ontario title, defeating Ottawa’s Bryan Cochrane 5-3 Sunday in the Tankard final at the Strathcona Paper Centre.

Skip Jeff Richard and his Kelowna Curling Club team of third Tom Shypitka, second Tyler Orme and lead Chris Anderson defeated defending champion Sean Geall of New Westminster, 9-8 in an extra end on Sunday to win the final of the Canadian Direct Insurance British Columbia men’s championship.
