VANCOUVER — One goal down and one to go.
Kevin Martin accomplished the first half of what he set out to do in Vancouver – securing first place and reaching the medal round.
Now he’s ready to go after the second — a gold medal.
Martin and his Canadian team of John Morris, Marc Kennedy and Ben Hebert wrapped up a playoff berth with a tight 6-4 win over Switzerland Sunday afternoon, playing a more conservative, open style to accomplish it.
