In their only game of the day, Cornwall and Charlottetown’s Shirley Berry rink handed Susan Lang and her first place Saskatchewan rink their first loss, by a 6-5 score on Tuesday afternoon at the World Financial Group Canadian Seniors in Ottawa, to improve their win-loss record to 2-4. Berry plays Quebec’s Agnes Charette (1-5) this morning and New Brunswick’s Heidi Hanlon, who, with a 5-2 record is in second place behind Saskatchewan (5-1), in the afternoon.
PEI’s men’s entry, skipped by Peter MacDonald of the Charlottetown Curling Club, lost their morning game to Saskatchewan’s Brad Heidt, who remains in first place with a 7-0 record, by a 7-5 score, but picked up a 6-4 win over Quebec’s Pierre Charette in the evening draw. MacDonald, who plays New Brunswick’s Robert MacDiarmid (0-6) tonight, is at 3-4.
Other members of the Shirley Berry team are Sandy Hope, Shelley Ebbett, and Arleen Harris, with Peter Gallant, Rod MacDonald and Doug MacGregor rounding out the Peter MacDonald rink.
