Field wide open for Junior Men’s curling on PEI in upcoming season

The future of Maritime curling will be on display in Moncton next week and long-time instructor Leo Majeau couldn’t be happier.

Thirty-team junior curlers and 12 adults have registered to participate in the sixth annual Centre of Curling Excellence camp, which will run nine hours a day from Monday to Friday at Curling Beausejour.

“On P.E.I., the junior curlers see a sign that they can make a giant step forward this year,” he said. “(Former Canadian champion and World Silver Medallist) Brett Gallant is not going to play his final year of junior so that field is wide open. It gives the chance for other curlers to step up, maybe win a provincial and get to a national championship”.
