Montague Curlers Impressed with The Dominion Ch’ships (E. Graphic)

(Eastern Graphic column from the Montague Curling Club).

Our boys, Donald, Larry, Mike and Cameron who play out of the Montague Curling Club got a taste of curling at the national level last week at the National Dominion held in the Charlottetown and Cornwall rinks.
This was a unique Canadian Championship with 28 men’s and ladies teams from every province and territory. The emphasis of this championship is the regular club curler.
Dominion Insurance, the sponsor, put on a championship that was second to none. By providing the single largest corporate sponsorship in Canada, they demonstrate the confidence in the growth of club level curling across the country.
Although our boys didn’t win many games it was a great experience. Larry said the ice was great and competition was strong. They all performed in a manner on the ice that showed great sportsmanship and determination. There is no doubt after having a taste of the national scene, they will be more determined than ever to return. Congratulations guys.
